ASHNHA Legislative Fly-in 2020
February 25 & 26, Juneau Baranof Hotel
- Health care and Medicaid funding are at the forefront of the budget debate.
- Hear directly from commissioners, legislators, and officials about health care priorities.
- This is a chance to educate officials on what health care challenges really look like in our facilities across Alaska.
Join us for the 2020 legislative fly-in. Talk with your colleagues about what the political landscape means for health care, meet legislators and state officials, and help advocate for a health care system that promotes access, quality and value. This meeting is open to ASHNHA members and invited guests. Registration is free for Type 1 and Type 2 ASHNHA members (hospitals and nursing homes). Associate members and ACEP members may attend with a registration fee of $100.
Location: Baranof Hotel, Juneau -127 N Franklin Street
Meeting Schedule: Tuesday, Feb. 25 beginning with lunch at noon. and ending with a reception at the ASHNHA office Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 4-6 pm.
Small Hospital Committee prior to the Legislative meeting: We have tentatively scheduled a Small Hospital Committee meeting for 8:30-11:30 am on Tuesday morning. More information will be sent to Committee members in January.

Hotel Reservations:
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Juneau Baranof Hotel. Reserve by Jan. 24 to take advantage of the $169/night rate and to ensure you have a place to stay. The Baranof Hotel is located in downtown Juneau and is three blocks from the Capitol. Rooms will fill up quickly so we suggest you make your reservation right away. Agenda for Meeting:
We will have experts and leaders present to us on our key issues. We will also hear from legislators and state officials. We encourage you to visit with legislators from your community and we will assist you in making those appointments. Download the draft agenda here.
Meeting Details:
Please plan to arrive in Juneau on Tuesday, Feb. 25 (unless you are attending the small hospital meeting - see below). The meeting will begin with lunch at the Baranof at noon. We will have a reception beginning at 5 pm Tuesday evening for all participants and invited legislators will attend. The meeting will end with a reception at the ASHNHA office on Wednesday February 26 from 4-6 pm
Small Hospital Committee:
Please plan to arrive Monday night (Feb. 24) if you are planning to attend the Small Hospital Committee meeting Tuesday morning Feb. 25 from 8:30-11:30 am A continental breakfast will be served.
